7-11 TO OPEN CHAIN IN CAMBODIA

7-Eleven convenience store chain is set to enter Cambodian market next year.

It will be operated by CP All (Cambodia) — a subsidiary of the Thai conglomerate Charoen Pokphand Group, which currently operates all 7-Eleven stores in Thailand.

CP All has signed a master franchise agreement with the Japanese-American owned 7-Eleven Inc. despite economic disruptions due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The first chain store in Cambodia is expected to open in Phnom Penh and the organization plans to modernize it under small scale environment yet bring greater convenience to shoppers.

WORK TOGETHER FOR ECONOMY 

Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth has called for the private sectors and government to work hand-in-hand in order to sustain the Kingdom’s economic growth as the Covid-19 pandemic grips worldwide economy, and disrupts production and global demand.

Pornmoniroth said shrinking regional and global growth, coupled with travel restrictions and limited effective measures implemented in response to the outbreak threaten the survival of businesses in the Kingdom’s key sectors.

25th ASIAN TELEVISION AWARDS

Manila successfully hosted first ever 24th Asian Television Awards (ATA) at Resorts World Manila in January this year. The region’s most celebrated TV awards show opens its Call for Entries for the 25th Asian Television Awards. It is slated to happen on January 15 to 17, 2021 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with Bayon TV as official broadcast partner.

Gearing for its 25th silver anniversary in 2021, ATA continues to recognize the best of on-screen and off-screen talents in Asia with over 56 categories vying for prestigious television awards in Digital, Performance Category, Technical and Creative Category, as well as Programming.

PREAH SIHANOUK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO BUILD TEMPORARY ARRIVAL STRUCTURE

A temporary arrival terminal at Preah Sihanouk International Airport will be operating in June as the runway extension from 2,800 – 3,300 meters project will be completed.

Cambodia Airports, the company developing and managing the three international airports for the Kingdom, stated that the temporary arrival terminal will enhance the airport’s handling capacity of passenger arrivals.
