My name is Joel Ho and I am the Residence Manager of Somerset Norodom Phnom Penh – a project by Meridian International Holdings. It is my pleasure to be part of this dedicated team of associates as we embark on this exciting journey to establish a branded Serviced Residence in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. As a foreigner working in Cambodia, being open and understanding the local culture has provided me the platform to understand the city even more than before. I enjoy my time spent learning about the Cambodian culture, exploring the interesting gems Phnom Penh city has to offer and meeting the people who give life to this amazing city.
My work as a Residence Manager involves maintaining service standards, managing the daily operations and leading the team. More importantly, we engage with residents and create special moments for them during their stay. The experience has been very rewarding seeing the Serviced Residence unfold into a success story. In our efforts to enhance our residents’ stay experience in Phnom Penh, it is our desire to create the Ascott Lifestyle through engaging Residents’ Activities to help them settle down and introduce a wide range of curated and recommended things to do that will leave unforgettable memories for everyone.
Part of our responsibility also involves giving back to society and the environment so that we can do our part towards creating a better Cambodia for the future. Recently, we went to Kampot as a team to plant mangrove trees and to learn about the importance of mangrove trees to the environment.
Phnom Penh is becoming more cosmopolitan as people from all over the world are attracted to the city’s potential. I believe that the future of Cambodia is promising and will be able to reach greater achievements.
