We are honored to have The Ascott Limited’s Country General Manager – Ms. Lew Yen Ping whom is in charge of Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia Region to have an interview session with us.

Good morning Ms. Lew, we are very happy to have this one on one session with you today.

Ms. Lew: Good morning. I am delighted to be here in Cambodia again today to further strengthening the long-term partnership between Meridian International Holding and The Ascott Limited. Firstly, I would like to thank Mr. Ko and the board of members for awarding Ascott Management contract for its serviced residence on the latest development - The Flatiron By Meridian.

For our readers that do not know about Ascott, would you mind to share with everyone the background of it, please?

Ms. Lew: Ascott pioneered the serviced residence concept 35 years ago with the launch of Asia Pacific’s first international–class serviced residence in Singapore. Since then, we have grown to be one of the leading international lodging owner- operators. Today, we have over 112,000 apartment units in 180 cities across over 30 countries in Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the USA.

How you would describe your market position in Cambodia?

Ms. Lew: Ascott is also one of the pioneers to make inroads into Cambodia and we are currently the largest international serviced residence operator in the country. With total three properties in the city, it will continue strengthen our leadership position. Our portfolio in Cambodia will now increase to about 573 units across three properties in Phnom Penh.

So Ms. Lew, what will be your expectation this time round?

Ms. Lew: Slated to open in 2021, Citadines Flatiron Phnom Penh will be Ascott’s third serviced residence in Phnom Penh. 
We expect strong demand for the serviced residence in view of its excellent location and positive outlook ahead.

With our past world-acclaimed achievement, we have acknowledged the ideal location of the project. A new township and one of the first planned city projects near the Central Business District. It is close to the Special Economic Zone where the manufacturing base of many international corporations are located. The serviced residence is near to the Prime Minister Office, Cambodia Railway station and shopping malls.

How do you differentiate the property?

Ms. Lew: Besides Ascott’s premium hospitality and the unique home-away-from-home experience that our serviced residences provide, Citadines Flatiron Phnom Penh will feature a range of apartments from hotel rooms, studio, one to three bedroom units to cater all travelers’ with different lifestyles.

In addition, it will offer travellers unparalleled convenience and a complete lifestyle experience. They will enjoy a wide range of facilities such as skypool, arena   fitness,   breakfast    and    residents’    lounge    and    meeting rooms. Furthermore, they will enjoy convenient access to various dining, retail and lifestyle facilities Flatiron by Meridian Social Kitchen, which is known for its self-contained live, work and play environment.

This is a significant milestone for the partnership between Ascott and Meridian International Holding. We look forward to the opening of Citadine Flatiron Phnom Penh and welcoming global travelers to experience Ascott’s award- winning hospitality.
