The Women of the Future Awards Southeast Asia – the first movement dedicated to celebrating and nurturing the pipeline of female talent in the region.
It has unveiled today 49 talented individuals across 10 countries in Southeast Asia who are helping to drive positive change and break barriers in their respective industries. From a leader in the Indonesian Army to a visionary seeking to raise awareness regarding the plight of refugees in Malaysia, the shortlist places the spotlight on incredible women making a real difference in Southeast Asia.
BMK Architects founder and principal architect Sok Muygech, DAI Global senior innovation programme manager At Sotheavy and Next Women Generation founder You Sotheary, were among the 49 shortlisted whom represent Cambodia.
In 2018, singer, songwriter and Baramey Production founder Laura Mam was the winner from Cambodia in arts and culture category. Last year, Dorsu co-founder and managing director Mov Kunthear, was the winner of social entrepreneur category.
Founded by Pinky Lilani CBE DL in the UK in 2006, and first launched in Southeast Asia in 2018, Women of the Future is a groundbreaking platform to showcase emerging female leaders. The winners out of the 49 finalists in their respective 10 categories will be announced at a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony in Singapore on March 18, 2020.
