A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

The past few month until now had been a roller coaster for every one of us. The situation around the world about COVID-19 continues to evolve massively and we are dealing with a significant global challenge.

 

Cambodia government had been tighten their border controls and travel restrictions as the pandemic threat escalates. While this is for the best, it poses new challenges for businesses trying to carry on as usual. Majority companies in Cambodia has been implementing safety measures commensurate with the increase stringent precautions advised by the local authorities. Since March, facilities & entertainment industry are compulsory to suspend operation and Khmer New Year holidays in April had been deferred as the government emphasis on “Social Distancing”. Religious gatherings were banned and most venues that could host large groups were closed in order to prevent community transmission.

 

With China support by sending medical practitioners, donations on monetary and medical supplies from various sources, for the past weeks, no new infected cases, according to daily announcement by local Ministry of Health. Total 122 confirmed cases reported. Remaining 3 positive COVID-19 case in hospitals. Till date, no death linked to the epidemic in the country.

 

In order to uphold our corporate social responsibility, Meridian pledge to commit “3 Principle” – No layoff, No Pay Cuts & No Cease of Business Operation.  We would also like to reassure everyone that as a Developer we are resilient and continued our usual business operation to serve our clients globally.

 

Management had in placed a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) that aims to ensure the safety of our people and continued provision of key client services and operations. All levels of employees had been well trained by using “Zoom” to communicate among each other at all countries branch office. In Phnom Penh, all our completed developments keeping vigilance high by drawing out all precaution measures according to World Health Organization advice. 

 

Furthermore, we are happy & glad that with our well-planned in cash flow resulted not affected by the current situation, our commitment & obligation towards our clients remains. For the latest development – Flatiron by Meridian’s construction is ahead than schedule. We are certain that will be topping out the building in June!

 

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to all Meridian’s family members’ loyalty and hardship during this crisis by getting our company prepared to cope with the situation. Your commitment makes all the difference to the company & society. Thanks to all our clients and business partners as well for the continued support with faith. I firmly believe we can overcome this period together to emerge stronger.
