SHREWSBURY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL PHNOM PENH
Our very first welcoming events for prospective parents, held on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of April at the Citadines Function Rooms in the Flatiron building.

Due to the limited number of seats available at the venue, all attendants were required to RSVP for the event. Fortunately we saw strong interest from parents to attend, and we were able to welcome many guests on the day.

Both the attendees on the Saturday and on the Sunday were warmly welcomed to the event by our Deputy Head of Early Years, Charlotte Thomas. Charles Wong, our Co-Founder and Chief Executive, kicked off the presentations with his talk on Gifted Education in Child Development.
Our founding principal, Toby Waterson, was then able to connect with us via video link from South Korea. Toby greeted the attendees in a range of languages, and expressed his desire to meet as many as possible of them in person when he visits Phnom Penh later this month. We then proceeded to watch a prerecorded video in which Toby explained the core values that make life at a Shrewsbury School so special.
Our very own Dr Mongkul Tep, Director of Admissions, then took to the stage to present our Student Admission Policies and Selection Criteria. Finally, Charles once again took the microphone, this time to talk our attendees through the proposed location of our main campus and the interior designs for our Early Years School at Flatiron.
At Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh, we are extremely fortunate to operate as part of the Shrewsbury School group. Shrewsbury School's centuries-long track record of academic excellence sets a high bar for us to meet, but we would not have it any other way. Our attendees were particularly impressed to learn that a full 20% of Shrewsbury School sixth form pupils go on to attend universities ranked among the top 20 institutions for higher education in the world.

After the presentations, there was ample time for an informal Q&A session. All parents have high requirements for their child's education, especially those that wish for him or her to attend an international school, so our prospective parents asked many good questions about the standard of education that we will be offering. These questions were frequently the starting point for detailed discussions about the school's policies and curriculum, which helped us better understand the precise demands of our parents and challenged us to explain our vision comprehensively.

We would like to thank everyone who attended for their time and for their questions, and we very much hope to see you again soon. Our next events will be in late April, and we would love to also see anyone who could not make it to our previous events there!
