The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) co-signed an agreement on “Project for Formulation of the Development Plan for Urban Water Supply” which will contribute to improve access to high-quality, safe, sustainable and affordable water in Cambodia.
The signing ceremony was held on January 12 with ministry secretary of state, Oum Sotha and JICA chief representative Kamei Haruko in attendance at the ministry headquarters.
This is the fifth JICA technical cooperation project for the water supply sector since 2003. The project target to improve the capacity of the ministry to regulate and supervise the sector by formulating the urban water supply development guide, model provincial urban water supply development plan and model public waterworks master plan.
It is expected to start in mid of 2023 in selected provinces.
