JIANGSU SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE:
A SUSTAINABLE HUB FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH

Jiangsu Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), located on National Highway Road 6 in Cambodia, stands as a testament to sustainable development and strategic positioning. Developed by Meridian International Holding (Cambodia) Limited, this 68.89-hectare economic zone is designed with eco-friendliness in mind, integrating waste management, water supply and recycling, and clean energy systems. Notably, it holds a permanent land title issued by the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction.

Eco-Friendly Infrastructure:

JS-SEZ sets itself apart by adhering to both Cambodian environmental certification standards and international benchmarks. The entire setup is strategically designed to be eco-friendly, ensuring that the waste management, water supply, and clean energy systems are seamlessly integrated into one cohesive framework.

Strategic Location and Logistics Advantage:

Strategically situated 66.5 km from Phnom Penh and 278 km from Sihanoukville, JS-SEZ offers a cost-effective and time-efficient logistical arrangement. Proximity to key locations such as Phnom Penh Airport, Phnom Penh Port, Tonle Bet, Cambodia-Vietnam border, and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam positions the economic zone as an ideal hub for businesses. The upcoming Phnom Penh-Siem Reap-Poi Pet expressway is expected to further enhance connectivity and reduce travel times.

Transportation Infrastructure:

The economic zone leverages its location on National Highway Road 6, a well-developed route that connects Kampong Cham Province to Poi Pet near the Thai border. The Phnom Penh-Siem Reap-Poi Pet expressway, set to begin construction in 2024, will further improve transportation efficiency, connecting Cambodia and Thailand over a 400-kilometer stretch.

Tax Incentives and Cost Benefits:

Factories within JS-SEZ enjoy preferential tax incentives offered by the Cambodian Government, providing an attractive environment for businesses looking to establish a presence in the region. With lower wages than Phnom Penh and more than 100,000 residents living within a 10 km radius, the economic zone benefits from a skilled workforce.

River Ports for Enhanced Connectivity:

JS-SEZ benefits from the establishment of river ports along the Mekong River by the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP). The UM1 Inland River Port, located 45 kilometers away, and the TS11 Inland River Port, situated 63 kilometers away, are strategically positioned for efficient cargo transportation, with expected operational dates in 2024.

The development of JS-SEZ is a result of collaboration with renowned organizations. The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has played a crucial role in designing the Sewage Treatment System, ensuring environmental sustainability. Surbana Jurong (SJ), a Singapore-based consultancy firm, has been appointed for the Master Plan, showcasing international expertise in urban, industrial, and infrastructure development.

Jiangsu Special Economic Zone emerges as a masterpiece of sustainable and strategic economic development in Cambodia. With its eco-friendly infrastructure, strategic location, logistical advantages, and support from international experts, JS-SEZ is poised to become a key player in fostering economic growth, regional connectivity, and business innovation.
