Big C Supermarket Coming to Cambodia

Thai retailing giant – Big C supermarket will be investing approx. USD 10 million in Poipet. A place which currently has about 200,000 residents, with about 50,000 are foreign investors.

Sok Heang, a domestic investors announced that the supermarket will starts construction next December, although the company has not received royal license from the Cambodian government.

He further said that the supermarket will be built on 2.5 hectares of land which one hectare will be reserved for parking. It will be located in Poi Pet Town, next to the Empire Project. 

Poipet has been categorized as an important economic hub in northwestern part of the country. It acts as an international border gate which attracts more potential, such as SEZs.

San Seang Ho, Mayor of Poipet, recently released that Poipet is growing due to the increase of domestic and international investors. With the speed of development and better urban infrastructure, the price of land had been increased.
