This year French Week took place from March 7 March 10, 2019 and show case French companies and NGOs in Cambodia. This second annual event was held in Siem Reap. The 'know-how' or savoir-faire – of more than seventy French companies in Cambodia was exhibited during these four days. Rich entertainment activities included film screenings, dance and music performances, fashion parades, barista and petanque competitions, drew in crowds of more than 4,000 visitors.
French national Benjamin Carrichon, APOPO's Visitor Centre Manager in Siem Reap, is the official organizer for promoting APOPO to the local and international community. Highlights of the four-day festival includes an opening ceremony featuring H.E Madam Eva Nguyen Binh, the French ambassador to Cambodia.
She said that following the success of last year’s debut festival, the organizational structure has been strengthen. Since then, the community has further organized through the Siem Reap branch of French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Cambodia.
Further to her comment, French week’s programme is rich, varied and pays tribute to France as well as Cambodia, especially to Siem Reap.
