2019 March - River festival held in Kampong Chhnang had attracted nearly one million visitors, both from local and international, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
Ministry of Tourism under-secretary of state -Top Sopheak said the number of tourists who had attended the 5th River Festival was higher than anticipated. It had received 200,000 visitors on the first day of the festival, more than 500,000 on second day and 300,000 on third day due to political stability, economic growth, and safety, which attracts overwhelming respond.
The event helps to promote tourism potential of this province and generate more potential for service providers to further investing in this area.
Furthermore, the festival aims to promote tourism and infrastructure development in the host province, as well as continue promoting “Clean City, Clean Resort, Good Service and Best Hospitality” campaign launched by the Ministry of Tourism in late 2017.
