Muscle cramps, headaches, weakness, fatigue, confusion, and nausea are all signs of heat related to illnesses. If you have these symptoms, get inside and cool your body immediately, as these may mean you have heat stroke. The symptoms are more likely to be occur if you are actively out in the heat.

2) Limit your hours outside
Try to avoid the midday sun, typically between 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Direct under the sun, is the hottest times of the day. If you require staying, out between these times, try to stay under the shady area, or try to keep your body in a cool temperature area.

3) Drink plenty of water
During the summer, most of us do not focus on getting daily-recommended 2 liters of water, but with all the heat, dehydration is a big threat. When out, make sure to supplement for all the water you lose when you sweat.

4) Don’t exercise outside when it’s super hot
Take advantage of all the beautiful weather we have before it is too late. Go for a morning jog before the sun breaks out or swim some laps outdoors. Remember to stay hydrated though, especially during swimming, because you don’t realize how much you’re actually sweating.

5) Pick up a new bottle of sunscreen that is best suited for your skin
There are so many different types of sunscreen; it can be overwhelming to find the right one. Try to look for a sunscreen that has at least an SPF 30 protection. If you have fair skin, you may need a stronger SPF level or a sunscreen that has zinc in it to properly protect your skin.

Sunscreens can be greasy and clog your pores. If you have acne or sensitive skin, look for sunscreens brand such as Neutrogena or ones that are oil-free. Otherwise, you may consult your aesthetic/skin specialist.

A few sunscreens even double as bronzers. If you wish to protect your skin, and give it a golden glow, look for sunscreens with bronzer or tanning agents in them.

6) Dress for the weather
This does not mean you have to sacrifice your style, it just means that you need to wear the right attire during hot days. Bring out your big sunhat, and think loose clothing, light colors, and shorts. You can still be a rocking fashionista, but transforming into a cool fashionista!
