SHREWSBURY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL PHNOM PENH 

Our very first welcoming events for prospective parents, held on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of April at the Citadines Function Rooms in the Flatiron building.
 
Due to the limited number of seats available at the venue, all attendants were required to RSVP for the event. Fortunately we saw strong interest from parents to attend, and we were able to welcome many guests on the day.


Both the attendees on the Saturday and on the Sunday were warmly welcomed to the event by our Deputy Head of Early Years, Charlotte Thomas. Charles Wong, our Co-Founder and Chief Executive, kicked off the presentations with his talk on Gifted Education in Child Development.

EASTER AT FLATIRON BY MERIDIAN: THE CITY'S MOST GOURMET CHOCOLATE LINE-UPH 

Children and adults alike love chocolate at Easter, but where does this tradition come from? During this time of the year, it is traditional to give chocolate eggs to each other. This gesture is not new since it dates back to antiquity. According to the legend, the Persians offered hen's eggs in spring. They were symbols of fertility and renewal, a kind of good luck charm for the one who received them.

The chocolate egg appeared thanks to the development of the first silver or tinned iron molds. In the form of either eggs, bells or bunnies, it is now the gourmet tradition of Easter.

'BEST NEW BANKNOTE' AWARD FOR 15,000 RIEL BILL DELIVERED TO NBC CHIEF

The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) has finally been delivered the 2019 “Best New Banknote” award received for its 15,000 riel banknote by representatives from the printing company Landqart AG after a long wait due to pandemic-induced border restrictions.
 
Antonio Cesario Ricdo, deputy director of the Switzerland-based manufacturer of high security paper, presented the award to the NBC in Phnom Penh on April 6, according to the central bank’s governor, Chea Chanto.
