JAPANESE SAKE TASTING FAIR BRINGS HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCE TO CAMBODIA AMID RISING INCOMES 

As Cambodia’s economy continues to grow, the country has become an increasingly attractive market for high-quality international products. To promote this trend as well as celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Japan, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) hosted ‘Japanese Sake Tasting Fair’, introducing 20 new labels of Japanese Sake to Cambodian consumers.

ECO CARNIVAL URGES PLASTIC REDUCTION

Officials and youths working on environmental issues continued to call on all citizens to take part in reducing the use of plastic, as well as to properly dispose of used waste in order to participate in preserving the environment and promoting public welfare.

The calls were issued at the March 12 Eco Carnival event initiated by the Creal Cambodian Youth Volunteer Group, with the support of Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Tourism, Phnom Penh City Hall, plastic waste management projects and other sponsors in a bid to connect love for the environment and promote products that support the environment.

HIGH HOPES FOR AGRO-INDUSTRIAL EXPORTS TO FRANCE: TROPICAM

Tropicam Fruit and Vegetable Co Ltd CEO Hun Lak, who recently accompanied agriculture minister Dith Tina to the annual Paris International Agricultural Show, said representatives from French businesses were very interested in Cambodia’s potential products and plan to visit the Kingdom in the near future to explore investment opportunities.

At the event, one of the world’s largest agricultural fair, Lak said the Cambodian and French sides also established links between growers, processors, producers, exporters and buyers to discuss and find new opportunities for international trade.

BATTAMBANG WOMAN'S DRONE SERVICE AIMS HIGH

A woman who provides pesticide spraying services using drones in Battambang province is gaining support from farmers after running the service for more than two years.

To Kosal, a trader who sells agricultural protection products and provides spraying services using drone technology, claims that farmers initially did not believe in spraying pesticides by drone as it consumed less water compared to what they would do manually on their own and they didn’t believe it would work.
