SHREWSBURY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL PHNOM PENH 

The long wait will soon be over, as Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh will be opening its doors this September!

As part of its preparations, Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh organised an Early Years Open Week. The School invited parents who have children between the ages of 7 months and 4 years old to visit the school and allow the children to experience firsthand what the school could offer them.

TOPAZ SHOWCASES CAMBODIA'S EVOLVING HOSPITALITY SECTOR WITH 'TOP 100' LISTING 

Long-running French fine dining restaurant Topaz has ranked 90 in the 2022 Asia’s Top 100 list, marking the first Cambodian establishment to make the list and highlighting the country’s evolving hospitality sector.

The restaurant is under Thalias Hospitality company founded by well-known businessman Arnaud Darc which includes other local restaurants Malis and Khema.

The group employs over 500 local and international staff, and consists of accommodations, restaurants and cafés. Professional event planning services in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

CAMBODIA ATTRACTS $3 BILLION INVESTMENT IN FIRST HALF 

Cambodia attracted a fixed-asset investment of almost USD 3 billion in the first half of this year, reflecting the firm confidence of investors in the Kingdom’s growth prospects.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia registered 98 projects with a total investment of USD 2.99 billion in January-June period of this year, inching up USD 29 million from the same period last year.

Local investment projects with a total investment of USD 1.59 billion accounted for 53.23 percent of total investment, while foreign investment from China registered USD 1.29 billion, accounting for 43.02 percent, according to CDC report.

GOV'T AIMS TO TRANSFORM CAMBODIA INTO AUTOMOTIVE & ELECTRONIC COMPONENT PRODUCTION HUB

The Royal Government of Cambodia aims to turn the country into a hub for the production of auto and electronic components as part of economic diversification and economic recovery in the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis.

This vision is set out in a draft roadmap for the development of the automotive and electronics sectors in Cambodia, which is being discussed and collected for additional input.

If your heart is set on something dear to you, then you’ll always find a way to make it work. Giant strides forward usually start out as baby steps and most good ideas start with one person taking it seriously and finding others who have been waiting for something like it to come along without even knowing it.

The Facebook group Phnom Penh Minimalist and Freecycle has been around for about two years now. It was founded by long-time Cambodia resident Irina Chakraborty and has now gathered more than 5,000 members – both locals and expats – who are interested in making a small contribution to the sustainability of Cambodia’s environment by reducing consumption through giving things away, reusing old things and recycling what nobody else wants.
