Supply Chains Re-routed to Asean
 

The relocation of production bases from China to ASEAN is perhaps the most notable benefit of the ongoing US-China trade war for the region. Over the past several decades, companies have flocked to China to take advantage of their low-cost production base and fast-growing middle class population with burgeoning spending power. 

With the US-China trade tension – which China’s Ministry of Commerce warned could be “the largest trade war in economic history to date” – disrupting supply chains, ASEAN is bracing for a surge in foreign direct investment (FDI).

Plan to Open 20 Yoo2 Hotels in S-E Asia

United Kingdom-based “YOO Hotels & Resorts” has revealed plans to establish at least 20 hotels under its lifestyle brand across Southeast Asia over the next three to five years, targeting key locations in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

India’s GoAir Plans to Enter Cambodia

India budget carrier GoAir had announced their first direct flight launch between Phnom Penh and New Delhi using Airbus A320 later this year.

According to Chea Oun, State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, the airline has already applied for permission to operate the flight.
