PREAH SIHANOUK EYES UNDERWATER TOURISM

Preah Sihanouk province has set its sights on underwater tourism, as a new way to lure in national and international tourists, and open an ocean of rich biodiversity and scuba diving experiences to enthusiasts and beginners alike, according to tourism officials and experts.

The coastal ecosystems in the province offer sea beds full of diverse marine life for travellers to visit, the provincial Department of Environment said in a Nov 21 statement that was brightened up with colourful images of underwater flora and fauna and coastal landscapes.

These included photos of diving trips in the Koh Tang archipelago organised by the Khmer Dive Group, displaying gorgeous coral reefs and a variety of colourful fish and other sea life, as well as cook-outs, camping and other forms of merriment.

E-BIKE SERVICES AVAILABLE AT 10 CAPITAL CITY BUST STOPS

The Phnom Penh Autonomous Bus Transportation Authority, known as City Bus, is touting the benefits of the new e-bike service which has been launched at 11 bus stops in the capital.
City Bus administrator Eang Sok Khim told the source that there are a total of 75 e-bikes available and planning to further expand the service to 250 e-bikes in order to cover all bus stop area in the city.

CAMBODIA RECEIVES PLANES FROM SOME OF THE WORLF'S LARGEST AIRLINES TO LAND AT PHNOM PENH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Cambodia Airports on December 4, released photos of a relatively busy airport, which hasn’t been seen for a long time due to Covid-19 crisis.
 
According to Cambodia Airports, Phnom Penh International Airport has received some of the world’s largest airlines landing at the airport.

CAMBODIA PURCHASES 4 MILLION MOLNUPIRAVIR TABLETS

Cambodia has arranged for the purchase of four million US-made Molnupiravir pills  to treat 100,000 Covid-19 patients even though the current rate of daily infections in Cambodia remains low.
 
The medicine will be distributed to state hospitals, pharmacies and private clinics, according to  Samdech Techo Voluntary Youth Doctor Association (TYDA), an organization that has been heavily involved with treating Covid-19 patients.

MONKS AND FOLLOWERS PLANT 2,000 LUXURY TREES IN PAILIN

In efforts to have one million luxury trees in Pailin province, approx.. 20 monks and 110 Buddhists planted another 2,000 in Sang Rokhavoan area.
 
Pailin provincial chief monk Ear Sophan reported that the luxury trees were donated by Pailin Provincial Forestry Administration and Buddhists across the Kingdom and living abroad.

CAMBODIA'S COOKBOOK DISTINGUISHED AS "BEST ASIAN COOKBOOK"

Cambodian cookbook titled The Taste of Angkor has been distinguished as the "Best Asian Cookbook" at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2021 in France, the country's foreign ministry announced in a press statement this month.

The award ceremony is being held in Paris. According to the statement, adding that The Taste of Angkor, prepared and published by the Cambodia's foreign ministry as part of its cultural diplomacy, was unveiled in January.
