PHNOM PENH - KANDAL EXPRESSWAY PROJECT

Prime Minister Hun Sen had announced the purpose of having expressway project was meant for one Belt one Road initiative to connect between Phnom Penh and Kandal province. It had been done 37 percent and will be fully completed by end of next year.

He further emphasis on the importance of having the expressway as it will ease the traffic congestion in Phnom Penh and will be connected to the ASEAN Highway as well as economic zones of the Greater Mekong Sub region. Besides, it will also connect the capital to the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port’s new container terminal in Kandal province’s Kien Svay district.

CAPITAL TO CONSTRUCT 27 OVERHEAD BRIDGE 

Phnom Penh municipal governor, Khuong Sreng released that the capital will construct a total of 27 overhead bridge in order to minimize risks from traffic accidents and reduce traffic congestion.

At the moment no further status on the completion duration. Sreng said he could not confirm when the 27 pedestrian overpasses will be completed as it subject to support outcome from the public. 

The governor further reported that certain streets had started to widen it, underground infrastructure system is rectifying and a few overhead bridge starting to build.

FOOD TECH COMPANY TO ENTER KINGDOM

Kemin Industries, a global ingredient manufacturer, has entered into a partnership with Diethelm Keller Siber Hegner (DKSH) to be the distributor for Kemin Food Technologies in Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar.

Using DKSH’s distribution services will strengthen Kemin Food Technologies’ market synergies and provide a foundation to further expand its presence within Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia. It will optimize its distribution network and improve its service in these emerging countries.

KAMPOT EXPECTS TWO PROJECTS TO FURTHER ATTRACT TOURISTS

Teuk Chhou area of the coastal Kampot province is expecting two projects focusing on smoke-free, ecotourism and infrastructure improvement.

The update was provided by Kampot Provincial Governor Cheav Tay during a press conference here in Phnom Penh, adding that the projects will further boost tourism in the province.

The first project to be located in Makprang commune, about 17 km from the provincial town, will develop into a natural recreational park, restaurants, tour service along the lake, and beyond.

Num Ansom Chek is one of the most popular Khmer desserts during festive period, especially Cambodia New Year. With a culture that is heavily influenced by Hinduism and Buddhism, during a festival, it is common practice to offer food to the monks at the temple, ancestors, relatives, and friends. 

This dessert able to store for a longer period as it is being wrapped and steamed by using banana leaves. In Khmer “Num” means “sticky rice cake”, and the following wording describe the filling of it. It is healthy yet simple to prepare.
